Deviant Friday – Laemeur Edition

Happy Veteran’s Day, folks – especially to any genuine veterans reading this blog. Thank You!

Today’s delve into DeviantArt takes up to Laemeur, a hipster with beautiful line work and lovely colors. Much of his work that would interest gamers concerns ’80s pop culture, but there’s all sorts of goodness on his DeviantArt page. I can’t think of any project – comic book or gaming – that couldn’t benefit from his illustration skills. Go take a look.

Deviant Friday – Eric Canete Edition

KAH-reload seems to mostly work in comic book images these days, though I remember some really nice fantasy stuff once upon a time. His style is maze-like – it draws in the eye and then gives it a roller coaster ride. They contain so much energy they make me feel like the paper is straining to hold them.

LADY SIF

RED SONJA

CONAN

ODINSON

SHANNA SHE DEVIL

MAJIK

I recently had another reason to look at some New Mutants material. It was really a fine piece of work back in the day.

THE AVENGERS

TYGRA

WONDER WOMAN

BELLE

Deviant Friday – Joel Carroll Edition

Readers of the Land of Nod should not be strangers to Joel Carroll, the artist who worked on Mystery Men! and oft posted on this blog. While you folks might know him primarily for his superhero artwork, he dabbles in many eras and I actually first discovered him on a site showing some of his D-n-D monster sketches. Check it out, gentle readers …

Owlbear

Rocket Raccoon

Rocketeer

Spacegirl

This lady would look good in Space Princess. In fact, how about some stats for that game …

Hooked Horror

Displacer Beast

Devil Dinosaur

Bossk

And I might as well give him some Space Princess stats as well …

Bristolwhip Kaiju Tokusatsu

Deviant Friday – jimmymcwicked Edition

Today, I peer uncomfortably at jimmymcwicked. He makes fun drawings of fun stuff that are cool and fun. He also sells his wares HERE. Go visit, won’t you?

Yes – he’s a commando. Not a freaking trite, overused ninja.

Sgt Rock

Deviant Friday – JHarren Edition

JHarren has a frantic, oozy style that I appreciate – and plenty of Kirbytech, the geometries of which make a nice contrast to his fluid inks. I can imagine all sorts of game books that would benefit from some JHarren pieces. Enjoy, an be sure to visit JHarren’s Deviant art gallery for much more.

The Rocketeer

Swordswoman

Zombie Samurai

Shwann 2011

Neverender

Orion vs. Beta Ray Bill

Darkseid

Deviant Friday – Joe Pekar Edition

Joe Pekar – AKA JFury – besides being a generally skilled artist, is especially skilled at pin-up art. If pin-up art offends your sensibilities, you’ll find a treasure trove of offense (NSFW) on his Deviant art page. Enjoy some of his tamer offerings here, ladies and gents.
